The first is the main ingredient. This should be some form of meat product. Corn, wheat, and soy are just fillers making the bag cheaper and not providing the diet your dog needs. 

Higher-priced dog food doesn't always mean it is more expensive to feed your dog. The higher-priced feeds offer better ingredients, therefore your dog is fed a better diet. They will eat less, be more active, and offer less yard cleanups. Because they are eating less your bags will last longer, therefore decreasing the food cost per bag. Once again read your labels to find the best food for you and your dog.
